Burning Questions?

What is cystitis?

A common type of urinary tract infection (UTI), particularly common in vagina-owners, that causes symptoms such as pain, burning or stinging when you pee, needing to pee more often than usual, dark or strong-smelling urine, lower abdominal pain and feeling generally unwell. Basically, it sucks.

Mild cases will often get better by themselves within a few days, but some people experience recurrent episodes of cystitis and may need regular or long-term treatment. Occasionally cystitis could lead to a more serious kidney infection and so it's really important to seek medical advice if your symptoms don’t settle.

How do the cystitis relief sachets work?

Those little sachets contain sodium citrate: a magical ingredient which acts to neutralise the acidity of the urine caused by cystitis and get you feeling like yourself again.

What’s inside those cystitis relief sachets?

Sodium citrate and the classic Thrush MVP: natural cranberry flavouring.

What if my symptoms don’t settle with the sachets?

Please seek medical review, as you might need antibiotics. Symptoms to watch out for include a fever, stomach and lower back pain, blood in your urine, and feeling generally unwell in yourself.

Can I take the sachets for cystitis if I am pregnant?

No. Please seek medical help if you have cystitis symptoms during pregnancy.
