I don’t like to gamble, but if there’s one thing I’m willing to bet on, it’s myself.”
Beyoncé at The Formation World Tour, at Wembley Stadium in London, 2016
This month, our HWOM is the definition of Power Woman: Beyoncé. The most difficult thing about this blog was whittling the never-ending list down to our top three reasons we have chosen Queen B as our Woman Of The Month. Here you have them...
- She’s been inspiring girls since 1999. With control over her own music, shows and businesses, she is not one of the best-selling music artists of all time for nothing. Her empowerment and equality messages regarding sex, race and all in between, are an inspiration to us all. A true role model.
- She speaks her mind. Beyoncé criticised H&M in 2013 when the brand airbrushed her; has famously called out Jay Z's cheating in her Lemonade album; and has three children, worked hard and been open about getting her body back.
- She is proof that hard work and determination pay off. I mean, who else can seriously get away with having an alter ego?! Sasha Fierce keeps her sexy aggressive and provocative stage persona separate from her true self. We are in awe Bey.
Fun Fact: She wrote “Crazy in Love” in two hours… with a hangover!!
Wow, I mean if anyone is productive on a hangover with time restraints, it’s Beyoncé. You’ll always be our inspiration B #GirlPower
